A minimally invasive procedure to visualize the upper digestive tract using a thin, flexible camera. Performed with precision, care, and advanced HD imaging for accurate diagnosis and therapy.
Schedule Your EndoscopyUpper GI endoscopy, also known as esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), is a procedure that allows Dr. Kishore to examine the lining of your esophagus, stomach, and the first part of your small intestine (duodenum). A thin, flexible tube with a high-definition camera is gently passed through your mouth while you are under sedation.
This procedure is essential for diagnosing the cause of persistent upper abdominal symptoms and can also be used therapeutically to treat certain conditions during the same session — avoiding the need for additional procedures.
At our facility, we use the latest generation HD endoscopes with advanced image enhancement technology for crystal-clear visualization and early detection of abnormalities.
Endoscopy helps identify the root cause of these common upper GI symptoms.
Your endoscopy journey — from preparation to recovery — is designed for safety and comfort.
You will need to fast for 6–8 hours before the procedure. Dr. Kishore will review your medications and medical history in advance.
Intravenous sedation is administered to keep you relaxed and comfortable throughout. You will feel minimal to no discomfort.
The endoscope is gently passed through your mouth. HD images are viewed in real-time. Biopsies or therapeutic interventions are performed as needed. Takes 15–30 minutes.
You are monitored in the recovery area until the sedation wears off. Most patients go home within 1–2 hours. Results are discussed the same day.
No. Endoscopy is performed under sedation, so you will be relaxed and comfortable. Most patients report little to no discomfort during or after the procedure.
The endoscopic examination itself typically takes 15–30 minutes. However, you should plan to spend 2–3 hours at the facility including preparation and recovery time.
Dr. Kishore will discuss the visual findings with you immediately after the procedure. If biopsies are taken, pathology results usually take 3–5 days.
Upper GI endoscopy is a very safe procedure with minimal risks. Rare complications may include perforation, bleeding (especially after biopsy), or reaction to sedation. Dr. Kishore will discuss all risks beforehand.
